Moon Valley Strides for Schools 5K + Kids Dash

Get ready to lace up your sneakers for an unforgettable event in Moon Valley on Saturday, April 6th, 2024! Join your family, friends and neighbors at Moon Valley Park for a morning packed with excitement and community spirit. Come out early to fuel up with coffee and food trucks, offering a variety of drinks and breakfast options!

Reminiscent of the iconic Grasshopper 5K, this event will take runners and walkers on a path through Moon Valley streets and over the Grasshopper Bridge, ending back at Moon Valley Park. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just out for a stroll, this 5K event is great for all ages! For younger kids, the Kids Dash offers a chance to burn off some energy, while the kids activity zone will keep them entertained all morning with sports and games. After you’re done running, treat yourself to a sno-cone and check out the local business booths with fun giveaways!

More than just a race, the Moon Valley Strides for Schools 5K is a chance to support local education. Proceeds will benefit the parent-teacher organizations at all three public schools serving the Moon Valley community: Lookout Mountain Elementary, Mountain Sky Junior High, and Thunderbird High School.
