FAMILIES RAISING HOPE: ASSISTING CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
Locality Homes is proud to sponsor Families Raising Hope’s 5th Annual Run/Walk for Hope on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021. Founded by Moon Valley residents, Bryan and Melissa Kovalesky, along with friends Jeff and Jennifer McGinnis, Families Raising Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting cancer patients and their families with the financial burden that cancer treatments pose. This allows cancer patients to focus on their health, healing, and recovery.
5K Run/Walk of Hope
The Run/Walk for Hope 5K has been held at Moon Valley’s Grasshopper Park for several years. In 2021, the event will be held at Foothills Recreation Center in Glendale to accommodate more walkers and runners of all ages. Enjoy a leisurely, family-friendly non-competitive 5K walk, or run your heart out in a timed, competitive 5K. The race will be managed by StartLine Racing, including timing chips with real time results and age group awards.
Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup opens at 7:00am in the Foothills Recreation Center parking lot on Saturday, October, 23rd, 2021 and the event begins at 8:00am.
This is an event for everyone, including runners and walkers of all ages and levels! There is even a virtual option for participants that are out of town, busy with their children's sporting events, or just prefer to complete the race on their own.
Every registration helps to provide HOPE to Arizona families faced with the financial burdens of cancer treatment. Families supported by Families Raising Hope need help paying for basic necessities like living expenses, food, and continued medical treatment - no one should have to choose between life-saving medical treatment and putting food on the table. Every registration, every donation and every sponsorship make a difference to real life people fighting cancer, right here in Arizona.
All registered participants receive a race bib with a chip that will track their time. For avid runners, this is a chance to shine and to achieve a PR (personal record). In addition, the top 3 runners in each age group will be recognized and receive an award.
